Credentialing for a Chiropractor’s office
So you just finished up your schooling for being a Chiropractor, and now what? Well, you find a good location for an office is always key. You need to know that there are some guidelines you need to follow, and you see those here.
Once you have your location picked out, and made sure you follow all the guidelines. You need to decide which insurance company you are going to go through and bill. Each area and region is different, so the same answer isn’t the same for everyone. Below though is listed some of the major insurance companies:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Aetna
- Tricare
- Cigna
- Medicare
- and others
You want to make sure that you get an early start on your credentialing needs because it can take any more from 3-4 months to get everything set up properly. The time frame includes submitting all the necessary paperwork and following up with the insurance companies. Then they would need to review your practice and credentials, negotiate rates, and finally give you the seal of approval.
